Okay peeps, here's the deal and I'll say it once.
NO ONE CARES IF *YOU* SAY MERRY CHRISTMAS. *NO ONE*.
Some stores say Happy Holidays because some people celebrate Chanukah, and some celebrate Kwanza and for some it's just another year. See also - holiday cards for the people who don't want to try and figure out what religion their third cousin is practicing at the moment. If you celebrate Christmas and want to shout it from the rooftops DO IT. If someone tries to shut you up the ACLU will gladly represent you (as they've done in the past).
But get off you persecuted high-horse. The government is not allowed to endorse one religion over another, so if you want to put up a tree in city hall you HAVE TO ALLOW other religions to put up a display as well. Sorry, that's how this country works and the law is there to protect you too.
But no one, not in a public position, not in a non-profit, has ever seriously put forth the idea that individuals cannot say Merry Christmas. Not now, not ever. Quit pretending they have just so you can act like you are a persecuted minority while Christianity enjoys a ridiculous amount of protection and privilege in the US.
It's absurd and you come across as the entitled assholes you are.
Merry Christmas.
